Product Description

0.50mm DX51D Z120 PE Pre-painted Steel Sheet RAL9002 for Roofing and Wall Panel Applications

1.Product Overview

0.50mm DX51D Z120 PE Pre-painted Steel Sheet is a color-coated galvanized steel product designed for roofing components, wall panels, ceiling systems, equipment housings, building accessories, and general sheet metal fabrication.

The product uses DX51D galvanized steel as the substrate with a Z120 zinc coating. A polyester paint system is applied over the galvanized surface to provide a decorative finish and additional surface protection.

The 0.50mm thickness provides suitable formability for cutting, bending, profiling, punching, and panel fabrication. RAL9002 offers a neutral grey-white appearance suitable for industrial, commercial, and architectural building applications.

2.Technical Solution

The galvanized substrate provides the primary metallic corrosion protection. The Z120 zinc coating forms a protective layer over the steel surface and helps reduce direct exposure of the base steel to moisture and atmospheric conditions.

Before painting, the galvanized surface is cleaned and chemically pretreated. A primer layer is applied to improve adhesion between the metallic coating and the PE top coating.

The polyester top coating provides the required color and surface finish. A back primer or protective back coating can be applied to improve reverse-side protection during storage, fabrication, transportation, and installation.

After coating, the material is cut into flat sheets according to required dimensions. The sheet format is convenient for individual fabrication, punching, bending, and small- or medium-batch component production.

6.Advantages

  • The 0.50mm thickness supports lightweight panel and sheet metal fabrication.
  • DX51D substrate provides suitable formability for common bending and profiling operations.
  • Z120 zinc coating provides metallic corrosion protection for general building applications.
  • PE coating provides a consistent color finish and additional surface protection.
  • RAL9002 offers a neutral appearance suitable for industrial and commercial building components.
  • The factory-applied coating reduces additional painting work during downstream fabrication.
  • Flat sheet format is convenient for cutting, punching, bending, and customized component production.
  • Customized sheet dimensions can help reduce cutting waste and simplify downstream processing.

7.How to Choose

  • Choose the sheet thickness according to component rigidity, forming radius, profile design, installation conditions, and finished product requirements.
  • Select DX51D when general forming performance is required for wall panels, roofing accessories, equipment housings, and decorative components.
  • Choose the zinc coating according to humidity, rainfall, indoor or outdoor exposure, and the expected service environment.
  • PE coating is suitable for general construction and industrial applications. HDP, SMP, or PVDF systems can be considered when higher weather resistance or color retention is required.
  • Confirm the RAL color before production, particularly when several batches will be installed in the same project.
  • Verify sheet width and length according to cutting plans, fabrication equipment, finished component dimensions, and material utilization requirements.
  • For visible surfaces, protective film can be specified to reduce scratches during processing and installation.

8.FAQ

Q1.What is the substrate of this pre-painted steel sheet?

The representative product uses DX51D hot-dip galvanized steel as the substrate.

Q2.What does Z120 mean?

Z120 indicates a nominal total zinc coating weight of 120g/m² on both sides of the galvanized substrate.

Q3.What paint system is used?

The representative specification uses a PE, or polyester, coating system with primer and top coating.

Q4.Can pre-painted steel sheet be used for roofing?

Yes. It can be processed into roofing accessories, flashing, wall panels, ceiling panels, and related building components.

Q5.Can the sheet dimensions be customized?

Yes. Width and length can be selected according to processing capability and finished product requirements.

Q6.What is the difference between pre-painted steel sheet and pre-painted steel coil?

Pre-painted steel coil is supplied in continuous coil form for automated production lines. Pre-painted steel sheet is cut into specified dimensions and is more convenient for individual fabrication and component production.

Q7.Can other colors be supplied?

Yes. Different RAL colors or approved customer color samples can be selected according to project requirements.

Q8.How should pre-painted steel sheets be stored?

The sheets should be stored indoors in a dry, clean, and ventilated environment. Condensation, standing water, packaging damage, and excessive surface friction should be avoided.
