0.60mm DX51D Z120 Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet for Roofing and HVAC Fabrication
1.Product Overview
0.60mm DX51D Z120 Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet is a zinc-coated flat steel product designed for roofing components, ventilation ducts, equipment housings, wall panels, cable trays, and general sheet metal fabrication.
The product uses DX51D forming-grade steel as the substrate and a Z120 zinc coating for corrosion protection. Its 0.60mm thickness supports cutting, bending, profiling, punching, and roll-forming operations while maintaining suitable rigidity for lightweight building and industrial components.
The galvanized surface can be supplied with different spangle appearances and surface treatments according to forming, storage, painting, and installation requirements.
2.Technical Solution
The steel strip is continuously cleaned and prepared before passing through a molten zinc bath. Zinc bonds to both sides of the steel substrate, creating a metallic protective layer that isolates the base steel from moisture and atmospheric exposure.
The Z120 designation represents a total zinc coating weight of approximately 120g/m² on both sides. The coating also provides sacrificial protection at cut edges and areas of minor surface damage.
DX51D substrate is suitable for general forming applications. After galvanizing, the material can be skin-passed to improve flatness and surface consistency. Passivation, oiling, chromate-free treatment, or anti-fingerprint treatment can also be selected according to the downstream process.

8.FAQ
Q1.What does DX51D mean?
DX51D is a forming-grade steel commonly used as the substrate for hot-dip galvanized sheets intended for bending, profiling, and general fabrication.
Q2.What does Z120 mean?
Z120 indicates a total nominal zinc coating weight of approximately 120g/m² on both sides of the steel sheet.
Q3.Can this galvanized steel sheet be used for roofing?
Yes. It can be processed into roofing accessories, flashing, edge components, wall panels, and other lightweight building products.
Q4.Is the material suitable for ventilation duct production?
Yes. The sheet can be cut, bent, lock-formed, and fabricated into ventilation ducts and HVAC components.
Q5.What surface treatments are available?
Common options include passivation, chromate-free passivation, oiling, skin passing, and anti-fingerprint treatment.
Q6.Can the galvanized sheet be painted?
Yes. Painting or powder coating can be applied after suitable surface preparation. The required pretreatment should be confirmed according to the selected coating system.
Q7.Can the sheet dimensions be customized?
Yes. Width and length can be selected according to production capability and customer processing requirements.
Q8.How should galvanized steel sheets be stored?
The sheets should be stored indoors in a dry and ventilated area. Packaging damage, condensation, standing water, and prolonged exposure to moisture should be avoided.
